My wife gets to travel for work.  I’m fortunate to be able to tag along.  The adventure is in Ethiopia, and six days into the trip the discoveries continue to find us every day.  Home base is in the capitol, Addis Ababa.  A visit to the south on Monday and Tuesday introduced us to beautiful landscapes, warm people, great local fare, and some good car time.  The infrastructure is good, but traveling in a 4×4 vehicle is a must- just in case.  One of the most rewarding visits of the trip has been connecting with an American couple that is doing amazing things to save children in the southern region.  They can explain better than I with a visit to their site.  They dropped everything in the states to move here and run an orphanage about 1.5 yrs ago.  Thanks to the friends in Omaha that donated supplies so we could give to these great people that are making a difference to some very special little ones.  These are the faces of the kids and family that is making it possible.

We’ve been getting a fair amount of requests for photos of the new space and although we’ve got a ways to go we thought it’d worth sharing a few images of the studio at the 1.0 stage. The mini slideshow includes the exterior,entry,meeting space,mezzanine and main shooting area.

Geoff & Chris just returned from a 2 week journey across 6 states. One of our stops included shooting at Chimney Rock near Scottsbluff, NE. We stumbled upon a local who was generous to take us close to the rock. Here’s a great timelapse Chris shot while 4 wheel’n.

The team spent a couple days with the fine folk of Weatherby at their headquarters in Paso Robles, California shooting these spots. It was a couple long days, but thanks to some strong on camera talent we had fun and accomplished quite a bit.  Big thanks to Joe at Swanson Russell for keeping us organized and Brad, Ed and Aaron at Weatherby for the great on camera talent and hospitality! It’s rare that we can say we are shooting someone shooting, but it happened here and it made me jump.

We recently worked with Thought District on this piece for their client Lincoln Machine. Chris and Andrew captured motion and stills during a great day learning the ins and outs about the precision work that Lincoln Machine crafts. It’s high level and exact. Best of all they have a great team that were fun to work with!

With a little string and a fair amount of faith Patty rigged up a Go Pro to her head so we could feel the speed as she’s flying across the waves.

The crew spent the last 4 days making the move to our new studio. Thanks to everyone that helped make the transition smooth. We still have some organizing to do, but let us know if you want to come over and check out the new space. We love it, especially our hammock.

In our travels around the globe we get to meet more than our share of interesting people and the subject of this image is no exception. Cale Buhr has the the quiet confidence of someone who’s been to the edge and came back-literally. A little over a year ago Cale’s heart stopped during a track and field competition and he was shocked back to life by speedy EMT’s. Now he sports a wonderful tattoo that I couldn’t help but ask him to pose with for a portrait.
